Dear all, I would like to hand in new paper instructions before round 5, 9, 13, and 17 start (introducing the changes in payoff) and ask all participants to wait until I finish. I have a wait page that force the participants to wait for the others to finish round 4 before they can start round 5, but I am not sure if I would finish explaining by then. Is it possible to force them to wait until I do something (e.g. click a button) to start round 5? Or do you have any suggestions about wait page? Thank you very much in advanced. Kind regards, Pim

Hi Pim - In the past I have done this by just having a regular Page without a {{ next_button }}. Once everybody is there (which I can see on the Monitor page), I would give the new instructions and then press the "Auto advance slowest user(s)" button on the Monitor page to advance all the users to the next page, where they could continue. Thanks, --Chris

Dear Pim, Clicking the “Advance slowest user(s)” button is one solution, but I am always reluctant to press that button outside of debugging. This is because if you accidentally click it more than once, your participants will skip a page. Maybe I am overly cautious ... :-D but the solution that I prefer is slightly different: Just as Chris Crabbe suggested, I also include a separate page, but that page features a text input. Into that field, participants have to enter a code (say, “4-8-15-16-23-42”). Only if they enter the correct code, they can advance to the next page. The code is, of course, unknown to the participants when they read the instructions. After the participants have finished reading the instructions, I ask them whether any questions remain. If that is not the case, I tell them the code. Best, Holger

Dear Holger, Thank you so much for your kind reply. Using a passcode sounds very interesting. I'll try. Kind regards, Pim
