Why are the available repos for live markets so complicated?

#1 by papayapap (edited )

I have been looking for an example project to get me started and am shocked at how complicated these projects are...

https://github.com/Zurich-Trading-Simulator/OtreeZTS
https://github.com/otree-tools/jbef-channels
https://github.com/Leeps-Lab/otree_etf_cda
https://github.com/Leeps-Lab/otree_markets
https://github.com/Leeps-Lab/high_frequency_trading

I don't understand why they don't use live_method to send offers and acceptances back like in the documentation. Anybody knows what the problem is of implementing live markets like the auction example in the documentation?
